The head and balancer bolts are TTY and should be replaced whether with ARP or stock. I chose ARP not because of necessity for my power level but because they are reusable (not TTY). From what I've seen/heard the factory fasteners are more than adequate to get the job done, but the ones I mentioned will have to be pitched if you take things apart after torquing them.

Also you should know that tightening using a torque plus angle method does not always equal torque to yield (TTY). It is merely a more accurate way of achieving a desired clamp load so it is frequently used by the factory for critical fasteners.

So the head bolts are one time use only. And I should replace them? How about the crank bolt or the bottom end. Or are they good enough for that power.
Everything is still bolted on from the factory except the heads and crank.

The stock crank bolt is also one time use only and a wise choice is an ARP bolt as you may have to remove the harmonic balancer in future for replacement, cam access etc.

Main studs are a good move on any LS build also.

Thanks for the help everyone. I decided to change all the bolts in the bottom end. Better safe than sorry.

Whenever you change fasteners on mains or rods, it is a wise idea to check the bearing bores for distortion from higher clamping loads. They may need to be honed.

Also while I'm no expert, I haven't heard of issues with the LS factory main fasteners. The rod bolts yes, but the mains not so much.
