DOD delete front cover
I am deleting the dod. I know the LS2 cover is shorter and guys use it , but Do I have to the change the front cover? Is the sensor in the same spot? Is there an actual reason for swapping other than looks?

DOD systems also run VVT systems which have a large phaser on the front of the cam, necessitating the thicker front cover. If you just delete DOD and retain VVT, you don't need a new cover. If you remove both DOD and VVT and put in a 3-bolt or standard cam&gear, you need to put on the thinner cover so the crank sensor can move closer to read the cam gear.

DOD deleting does not change the front cover. Deleting VVT does.

I just purchased the VVT delete kit from TSP, same thing for me too. The cover is the same and I have the same upper gear in my spare parts box. I guess I'll just ship it back for a refund..oh, well!
