Default rebuild question

in the process of building a 5.3. it's currently sitting on the engine stand ready to be pulled apart. i bought a cam, carb intake, springs, retainers, timing chain etc...i was told that i could do the spring swap with the heads on the motor. but i figured it would be easier to just pull the heads, but wanted to get some input from others who have built some ls motors before. i built my BBC, and have some experience with older SBC's as well.

anythings i need to look out for when doing the work?

anybody know where I can get the torque specs for the motor?

any and all help/info is appreciated. thanks.

I would not bother pulling the heads to swap springs, it will be easy enough with the engine on the stand anyway.
I also wouldn't call your list a "rebuild", and I wouldn't go doing an actual rebuild with what sounds like a very mild setup.
