Default Turbo 4.8 guys, get in here.

I have a thread posted under the Forced Induction section, due to the fact Im trying to piece a budget turbo build together, but I have questions on concerning cam, springs and pushrods that would be better suited under this section. Im going to copy and past my questions to this thread as well. Thanks in advance.
From the other thread:
Im trying to do a budget minded turbo build on my 07 nnbs silverado. And ive got a few questions. So ill start. Will a stock ls3 cam out of a 2010 ss camaro work well in my truck? Ive reviewed the specs and it seems to be comparable to a ls6 cam but in single bolt instead of 3 bolt design. Is the ls3 cam a factory vvt cam or does the motor have dod? If yes, how will it effect the compatibility of the ls3 cam in my engine? Will the stock ls3 springs and pushrods work in my factory 243 heads? Due to the turbo size it wont see more than 15 lbs ever and likely 10-12 nearly always. Or would it b wise to run aftermarket springs and pushrods due to possible valve float under boost? On to the boost questions.... im planning on running an ebay gt45 turbo with flipped manifolds. I think the turbo is 69/77 but not sure. Anyways, what size wastegate and bov should I run? What brands?

All those cams are going to put you at about the same power at that boost level. The LS3 cam is not a VVT cam. The L99 is the AFM/DOD cam. The LS3 springs should work but a good set of springs is worth the insurance, since you will have boost on the backside of the valve.

You may want to consider converting to a Non VVT system which will open the doors to a bigger selection and allow you to run the LS3 cam. If you are going to go through the trouble of installing a cam we recommend spending the extra money and getting something like a Comp Cam, Isky Triple 12 or Howards cam with appropriate springs. On a turbo setup you do not want to gamble the longevity on your engine due to cheap wastegate malfunction. Turbosmart wastegates are a quality product with several sizes available that would work on your setup. The blow off valve tends to be chosen based on sound preference and the majority of the options listed in your boost range will flow enough cfm to prevent turbo damage.

The LS3 is a Non VVT engine. The easiest way to confirm if you have VVT, is to look at your timing cover and confirm it has the extra harness. VVT is on the Left and Non VVT is on the right.

Any budget minded suggestions on valve springs and pushrods? Also would a single 255 be enough fuel or would the truck need dual 255s? And will 60lb injectors be sufficient?

Im looking to make 500whp without lifting the heads or intake and on 15lbs. After reviewing the build on the 2010 silverado I think I have answered a few more questions that I had.
Plan is now... Gt45 A/R = 1.05 turbo, knock off 50mm Tial BOV or maybe an RPS BOV, 80 lb injectors of some brand, ARP rod bolts, still unknown wastegate or wastegate size, twin 255s, 4L80E, factory LS3 cam, pushrods, and still undecided on valve springs might go with 1218s.

I recently have been reading the factory fuel pumps in the nnbs are good to 500ish whp so I may keep the stocker for now and replace it if necessary.
