Default concerned motor swap.

just curious if theres anything i need to be aware of im changing my ls6 383 to a ls3 418. curious if oil pan will bolt back up. will parts interchange. is there any main pointers or concerns i need to know.? thnaks

The oil pan will fit no problem. But you will need to get a windage tray spacer kit to clear the crank. Also depending on the timing set, you will need an Ls2 front cover with a cam sensor and extension harness.

i used some washers stacked together to clear the windage tray...just an idea!

Same here. I would already assume that you know you need a new intake for the rectangular port heads if you don't have one.

The LS2 front cover will a PITA if you use a double roller chain. The boss for the bolt that holds the cam sensor in place will hit the timing chain and you will end up grinding the **** out of it.

Already getting intake and stuff for it.. and its a doubke rollmaster timing chain.. so idk what kinda cover is on it exactky.. the car been running in guys car for while...

Is the LS3 set up with the correct reluctor wheel on the crank?
