Default ls3 swap into 2000 ws6

fixing to be getting a built 418. its coming with the 24x reluctor i already need. i heard on a diff thread need some knock sensor wire extenders.. i dont want to drill holes in block. also some kinda wire extention for the maf sensor idk. just needing to know EVERYTHING needed to do with the swap. its a m6. motor also coming with the injectors and rails and fast 102 already. just trying make sure the oil pump water pump and my f body oil pan will work with this motor. what about windage tray clearance? anything anybody can give me info on. i want to do it once and put motor in. will take time and make sure everything is done right before install. i will have a ls6 383 for sale (can part out) and also use any parts i need for new instal. hope hear somthing soon. thanks.

also fyi.. have to put motor in through the top. dont have lift and im not going to jack car 6 ft in the air. dont trust it. so on the ground with jack stans and jacks is how im going. thanks

I'm in the middle of an LS3 swap into a '00 WS6, so here's what I can tell you..

-You'll need LS3/7 style injector adapters assuming the new motor is coming with it's own inectors
-MAP sensor extension
-Racetronix knock sensor adapter/extension will allow you to keep the LS2 style sensors
-Cam sensor extension harness

You can use your LS1/F-body oil pan & pickup, I also used the windage tray from my pan, don't know if the longer windage in the LS3 pan would work or not but I didn't want to risk any compatibility issues. Your water pump will also bolt up to the LS3 block so you're good there.

Ran me around $220-250 for the additional harnesses and adapters, purchased most from Katech with the exception of the knock sensor harness with I got from Racetronix.

+1 for everything VTCWS6 said, and windage tray for LS1 will work but you might have to shim it because of the extra stroke, check for safe measure I know I will be. I'm in the process of an LS3 418 swap as well, make sure you check the reluctor ring to #8 piston skirt clearance and make sure that is good, I got my setup because the guy before me had a 416 and the bottom of skirt hit the reluctor just a little bit enough to cause problems at high RPM. I was able to find Siemens 60lb injectors that are small like LS3 with the EV1 (ls1) style plug so no needed adapters
