Will be a dog anywhere under 5000rpm. But after that it will SCREAM.

Better have some good rod bolts if the cam doesn't come in till 5K, unless you shut it down at 7K or less. 1000 to 5000 is a long time to wait, just to change gears 1800 rpms later. It will get a lot of attention idling in the parking lot though, LOL.

There's a reason you got a good deal on that cam.

Do you realize what your compression is with an LQ4 and 317 heads?

The compression will be about 9.4:1 and the cam is 244/242 in duration. That combo would suck.

Even with LS3 heads, you're still only looking at about 9.7:1.

Think about it this way...how expensive are cams anyway? A few hundred bux?

In order to save a measly $200 you're willing to compromise the driveability of you car?

Why not sell that cam on here for a profit most likely (if you got a good deal on it) and then spend some $350 for a brand new cam that will work much better with your setup. Mill the heads a bit to gain some compression back and watch your car be a lot more fun.
