Default Ls2 stroker vs stock crank

Hey guys I have an LS2 I want to build just not sure if I need a 400+ ci motor or just rods and pistons. I was thinking stock stroke would rev higher.

What do you think the power and RPM diff is between stroked and stock crank?

It will rev higher..You will lose more TQ(TQ is what gets the car off the line/ HP is the power to keep things in motion)... pistons and rods will set you back some coin.....Crank too. Stroker will make more TQ and HP and not have to rev as much. RPM will depend on intake & cam. But same cam and intake you may get as much as or even more than 50 ft/lbs of TQ at the bottom end of the rpm range. Hp= TQ multiplied by RPM. What is it you would like and how much do you want to spend with your budget. Stroker will include Crank, rods, pistons, around 2 grand and that is a cheap way out as far as aftermarket Good deals. You could get Cast stroker crank and some I-beams and Factory style pistons for even cheaper but (No) power adders would be recommended. Mainly what is the purpose for the engine and over all goal.

It will rev higher
That's not necessarily true, at least in this situation.

Unless he goes absolutely radical with the setup, he will not reach the RPM limit of even a 4" stroke crank.

If he was shooting for 8000+ RPM I would say yeah the stock stroke is better. Otherwise, with a basic setup keeping it to say 7200 RPM it doesn't really make a difference in 4" vs. stock stroke.

I was thinking long rod if possible in an ls, high compression up to whats possible on pump gas w/ as much NOS as it can take

You can go very high you will need a big as cam to bleed off cylinder pressure. The 1 ? is what exactly are you wanting from your engine and what is your budget. Those 2 ? will help any one with your engine build....
