Default Anyone running 228r @ 110lsa

I have ly5 5.3 im putting in my 78 monte. I will delete the DOD. Kinda leaning towards the tsp 228r at 110lsa. Any one else running this cam? I would like something choppier at idle and cruises down the road good with smaller stall. able to put down power when i want it but get good mpg cruising. thanks

That is a bit much of a cam for a 5.3L unless you want a large stall. Tightening the lobe separation angle will help some but not what I think your looking for.

Decide on the stall and then go from there, you can then have a cam spec'ed to go with it that will also have the overlap you want.

From the sound of it your going to have to sacrifice some low end/midrange to get that chop your wanting if a 228r on the typical 112 LSA is not enough for ya.

We installed one into an Ls1 GTO on a 108. Thing made some pretty impressive torque...over 500 at the tire with some ported 243's, ported Ls6, ported TB, 12.68:1 on 93. Needed e85. Would've made even more power.

Try a custom CompCam 223(.610)/224(.568) 110+2, with 3.5* overlap it'll have a clear cam sound, and make good power.
