Newbie has ? on bore & stroke On the different LS engines are the strokes the same and the bores different or are they both different? The reason for my question is that I hope to build two 6.0 aluminum block engines. I can buy bare blocks for roughly 1400.00 and since I need everything else if I could buy a 5.3 and get aftermarket heads and cam and reuse everything else that would be the way I'd go. Finding used 6.0's are hard to find.
The only Gen III/IV engine that doesn't come with the 3.622 stroke is the 4.8L.
If you buy a 5.3, you're going to need new pistons to make a 6.0 so you can't reuse those. Although not sure if those can be bored out to the full 4" bore.

Even if I could go out to 4.00 on a 5.3. I don't think I would use it.
