Default Trick flow 235 vs ls3 style heads

Ok so I'm in the middle of my build and I'm starting to have Second thoughts about my head selection. I got the TF 235CNC ported heads and have been thinking I should have went with a LS3 style head for my Mast Motorsport 416ci motor. What are your thoughts?

when i had my 418ci, i used the TFS 235 and it ran great. first i had a ported ls6 intake with a 90mm snout and a NW90 tb. then, i ported the snout to 92mm and put a NW92 tb. it ran very strong, and the bottom to midrange power was just ridiculous. so, i say keep them.

You cant beat the under the curve torque the 235's give you.

Ok so I have the TFS 235 but I'm thinking about the TFS 255. And I know I'm going to have to go with a LS3 style intake so what do y'all think about the TFS 255.

Have TEA open your heads up to the 245 specs ,with a nice turned down ls3 valve, along with the nitrous exhaust port and you'll be set.
Plenty of power to be made with a cathedral port still
See my time in my sig, especially the mph as the car needs work to keep the front end down !
You have more left in those heads, to where you dont need to go to a sqaure port design
Good Luck

Just get in touch with, TEA / Mr Brian Tooley: for your spring and rocker arm set-up also ask him about a cam to match.

I had the same dilemma. I had the TFS & LS3 heads and was wondering which set to run. I checked with several people including Brian Tooley and all said if you already have them run the TFS. The LS3 are a good inexpensive alternative but if you have the TFS they are a better head.

If you have a mast 416 motor, why wouldn't you gone with with there heads too? They have a head and cam combo all match up already. I'm in the middle of research to choose which head a cam package to go with for my 2012 ls3 and I'm leaning towards Mast... anyone out there with any other opinions

I did not go with the Mast head because the trick flow heads out flows the mast heads.

There is a lot more to making HP with a set of heads than raw flow numbers. Ive seen several tests that showed better HP/TQ curves with a head that flows less than another in the same test.
The trick ,IMO, is matching the camshaft to the flow curve of heads you have. Either one, Mast LS3 or cat head TFSs, will make all the HP/TQ you can stand IF the rest of the combo works well with the heads of choice.
Im an LS3 head fan, but if you have the TFSs, run them and you wont be disappointed .

Thanks bro this build was based off of another member build. He ran the TFS 235 on his 416 and a custom cam with a fast 102/102 setup and made 603/596 so that's why I went with the TFS235

I have tfs 235 and run 10.2 na and 8.47 on nitrous. I'm thinking about switching at 245s with the nitrous exhaust port and switching to a solid roller but she just works so well right now.

I have the TFS 235's and with a 90/90 on a 441 in a full weight M6, 550/512 rear wheel on smaller cam trapped just over 130 mph in the quarter.
Unfortunately the motor is out now with other issues but it will be stronger.
