help building oil psi

help building oil psi so i just kinda finished my swap into my 1980 cj
junkyard 5.3l with xxx unkown miles
torker v2 cam
all i did was pull the pan windage tray and pickup tube out to clean (sludgey) and pull the front cover to do a cam swap and this thing wont build any oil psi :/
it acts like its trying to i need some help
i made sure that the o ring on the pickup tube didnt rolll or anything i lubed it good
you can rev it to 2000 rpm and it will build like 25-30 but when you let it idle down it goes back to zero.......
i need some thoughts from you guys

I do know there is two different o-rings for the pick up tube. You have to be sure to use the right one on a specific pickup tube. If you don't you could have pressure problems. I cant remember which goes with which tube but do some research and make sure you have the right one for your tube. If you did not have it apart the o-rings in these things just go bad. Just something to rule out in your search .Hope you get things worked out.
