Default Head Gasket Help

I am getting ready to order my head gaskets so I can put the engine back together then in the car. I don't know what bore diameter head gasket to get. Here are the specs on the engine:

402 LS2 with LS3 heads milled .036 for a 64cc chamber
-8cc dished pistons with valve reliefs

The head gasket I am looking at is:
Cometic 4.060 bore .036 compressed thickness

I am not sure how far the piston comes out of the bore, my dial indicator stand is MIA so I am having a new 1 shipped tomorrow. How important is knowing that to selecting the head gasket? I know it affects compression ratio. I have read a few different places that on LS2s the piston comes out of the bore .005" but I am not sure since I have Callies Compstar crank/rods and Wiseco pistons.

I'd only run that 036 gasket if the pistons are between -.005 and zero deck.
If they're out of the hole then consider a thicker one.

they do come up some, won't know exactly how much until my new stand gets here.

You do not want .036 gaskets. I think we have gone over this in one of the many threads you have made. Get a .045 gasket since you dont know and possibly wont know before you measure. This way you have a better quench than stock but still have room for PTV issues and piston to head issues.

.036 milling will net you smaller than a 64cc chamber also iirc. .026 SHOULD net you around 65cc from a stock 68-69 cc head.

Would the 4.060" bore gasket be ok or would I need a larger diameter bore gasket?

You cannot use a 4.060 gasket with LS3 heads. You will need a 4.085. I recommend a 4.085 x .045.
