Default first start up

Hey guys I was wondering what the ideal way to go about first start up. What oil? What ROMs? Heat cycles ect. I will be starting my car hopefully for the first time here in the next few days. Stock rotating assembly with all new bearing and rings.
Thanks, Jason

I used some 30w conventional oil and started it up. Ran it up to temp, topped all the fluids. Let it cool and take a break. Then drive it and get it up to rpms to seat the rings! Change oil and go.. I used conventional 5w-30 for 10,000 now I run 0w-30 german castrol syntec. Going strong 20,000 later

Use break in oil, joe gibbs br30 is good, and use a ls1 oil primer to prime your pump. Make sure you run the primer until you see oil flowing from the push rods, NOT when you first see pressure on the gauge. It will take a while for oil to fully fill the lifters, sometimes up to 30 mins. That's why dry starting a motor is a horrible idea, among other reasons. That will also help with lifter preload if you need to check that as well.

with proper assembly lube, starting is not a problem. I know you can buy a sprayer and a fitting to do this and its messy as hell. I've never known anyone to do this. I did unplug the fuel pump relay and coils, cranked it over about 5 sec seconds twice. Then let her rip, the oil psi came up pretty quickly. I also soaked my lifters overnight before installing them. Not bad advice though.
