Default VVt question.

I'm shopping around for a LS engine to swap into my Vega. When swapping an eight into one of these cars the biggest problem is the lack of room between the accessory drive and the radiator so every fraction of an inch counts. I'm thinking the 'Vette accessory drive will give me a little more room, but when looking at engines I have noticed that the VVT sticks out of the timing cover, pushing the water pump closer to the rad.
How much longer is a VVT engine compared to a non VVT engine? I'm guessing a couple of inches maybe?

Someone may have it more exact but I would say maybe an inch.

The blocks same the difference is in the timing cover. However if you do a cam you can gain the few inch you need

That is correct. The timing cover does stick out more. Also the water pump is further out to clear the the timing cover.

Thanks for the replies.
I was just wondering if anyone has actually measured the depth difference of the timing cover.
I guess if I come up short on room I'll just delete the VVT.
