So I finished porting my heads and I'm installing my BTR .660 lift valve springs and the outer diameter of the retainers is smaller than the outer diameter of the springs. Got 2 installed so far. Just checking to see if this looks ok. I've always thought the retainers should match the outer diameter of the springs. They fit the inner diameter of the inner and outer springs just right.

 

Nope, that's perfectly fine.

 

Thanks man. I found a post on yellow bullet last night dealing with a guy building a turbo ls with these same springs. His retainers all looked just like mine and I couldn't find any posts saying he had trouble so I went ahead and finished installing them last night. Heads going back in today. Can't wait to hear her come back to life again.
