afr 245 cathedral head on ls3?

Default afr 245 cathedral head on ls3?

Was browsing ebay and seen these afr 245 heads and was wondering how they would run on a stock cubic inch ls3? Has anybody done this, juss wondering how much better they would be than a aftermarket ls3 style head?

well that head would be a little big, BUT .... it can work...i think it needs a bigger bore, I don't remember. But a REALLY SPEC'ed cam would be needed. If the intake valve is 2 big a smaller valve and seat will be needed. The CAM NEEDS 2 BE MADE FOR THAT HEAD COMBO NOTHING OVER 230 duration I WOULD THINK.
Look up Cathedral port VS Rectangle port.
it is just, which 1 you like better. The smaller the port ..the more TQ .... YET a good cam with a LS3 head combo CAN MATCH the smaller Cat style head Tq#. Your choice.. It also comes down 2 $$$$. If those heads are not really that much cheaper, get a head designed 4 your combo.

Just port exhausts on the ls3 heads. No need to misspend money. I ported my own but if i had had added funds, i would have sent off my ls3 heads to Advanced Inductions for their angle valve job and exhaust porting...best bang for the buck and all most you can need in an ls3...

Okay thanks guys, yeaah I figured it would but those would probably be more for bigger ci, I guess for the price though a stock ls3 821 would be juss fine. Ill have to look up that cathedral vs rectangular port thread though and read through it.
