timing chain?

Default timing chain?

just looking to get your guys thoughts on using a .005 smaller timing chain when having a block line honed? im trying to brake in to the 700+hp range with the engine and was just wondering if it was worth it or not to get one or should i get a timing chain set that has an adjustable cam sprocket? i cant fined any shorter kits that come with the adjustable cam gear.

For a frame of reference, .005 is about the width of one or two human hairs. That's a really small number - not sure if it's worth it or not.

At .005" I would not worry about it.

I would just get stock gears (new or used) and a new OE chain. I've run used chains on both of my engine builds.

Cloyes with the C5R chain. Get billet gears with adjustability and run a stout single chain.

I have had good success with the Rollmaster "Gold" double roller. It is a more affordable piece but requires more patience and labor to install.

The best thing about every cloyes set is, they are hand matched. Meaning someone makes sure the marks line up correctly on every set before they are put in the box. I am not sure any other company does that period.
