VVT timing cover modification

VVT timing cover modification I am considering deleting the VVT on the LY6
Is there any reason why I couldn't just remove the three bolts that hold the VVT servo on the timing cover (LY6), and replace it with a cover plate? I guess the other option is an LS3 timing cover?
