Default Installing prc .650" viton seal help

I installed a tsp ms3 cam in my 2006 ls2, and am currently doing the springs.

The stock eals popped right off. I installed the new locators but am having a heck of a time with the blue viton valve seals.

I oiled them up well, and tried tapping them on with a socket that fit the outside diameter of the seal with out touching the actual spring seal portion.

The did not want to go on, I kept tapping them until they were all they way down to the locators but the look a little marred up, I can get pictures if necessary.

Are they supposed to go on difficult? Do I need an actually installer tool for them? I did a search but unsure if they are supposed to go on all the way down to the locators? I only did the number one cylinder, but dont feel comfortable with the install and will be ordering a few new seals from tsp on monday.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. This is my first cam/spring install on an ls motor.

Yeah, they should be a tight fit and can be a PITA to install sometimes. I haven't seen too many that sit all the way down and touch the locators though. There's usually about a 1/4" clearance.

Well then the couple I installed are probably installed too far. I will re-do them When I get the new seals but would like to get the rest installed properly. Thanks for your input.

I just installed another, and stopped where I thought it should sit looking at the height of the stock seals. Does this seam like how the should fit? I couldnt feel or hear any difference tapping them on to tell me they were all the way home.

After walking away from it and starting fresh today, I used an extension on a smooth snap on 12 mm socket and tapped them on and did hear a slight change in sound once they were seated. I should be good to go now except for the first few I messed up by tapping them all the way down to the spring locator. I'll call tsp Monday morning and order some extras.
