6.0 build recommendations
I'm asking because you are all the experts. But i have a little bit of a project and i wanted to run it by you all to get your input before i pull the trigger.
I am building a jet boat, and ive decided to go with an LS based engine. My current ideas are as follow
LFA Block (Aluminum 6.0)
a set of CNC'd 243 heads, from a member here
Polluter v2 cam
Victor JR intake
750 or maybe 800 Double pumper
MSD ignition.
My question, since you are all a little more versed in these than i am. What kind of performance will something like this make? Im hoping for somewhere in the 500 FLYWHEEL hp range. Is this an attainable goal?
Other than Rod bolts anything else i should upgrade in the stock lower end before i seal it up?
Thanks
4.250 bore wet sleeve idea:-) for a 5.3 resleeve. plated with nikasil.
At this point I'm seriously considering buying ls3 heads or the cnc ones, and going with a pretty large cam.
I guess coming from the old school sbc and this newer stuff you get a lot more power for your buck.

So yours should be doable, newer 6.0s rod bolts are pretty good, i go to 7500 rpm with no issues. Suppose nice set of 243s should be ok, but much easier with rectangle port

Im picking the motor up Saturday and already ordered the cam after too much research. Thank god the guys at BTR are patient.
After talkign with them and telling them my goals we specced out the LS1/LS2 stage 4 NA cam. So heres what it looks like moving forward (atleast to get it running)
6.0 Aluminum block fresh rings, bearings
New oil pump
BTR Stage 4 NA cam (235/242 .621"/.592" 111+3)
Stock 243 heads, milling them .015 to raise compression a little(again for now)
BTR .660" lift spring kit with Steel retainers
BTR 7.4" push rods
BTR Rocker Trunion upgrade kit
ARP Rod Bolts
Victor jr intake (once i can find one)
MSD 6012
Holley 750 dp
Open Long tube headers (jet boat normal)
And a 150 shot if i want to get dumb
So, with this moving forward BTR says i should be in the 480-500 FWHP range easy. Maybe more we will see.
Most everything but head bolts, gaskets and the intake/ignition are already ordered
