Default L92 block rebuild question

Hey all,

Im gonna purchase a l92 block in a few weeks. The block has around 46 k miles on it. I'm planning to have it clean, Change the rod bearings to cleavite and use ARP rod bolts. I also plan to change the reluctor wheel to 25x. Ill be pairing this block with ls3 heads. Can I do change the bearings and the rod bolts myself or do i need to take it to the machine shop? How much does it cost usually for that kind of service?

another questions.

1. Can I use my ls1/ls6 sns stage 2 cam or do i need to get the ls2/ls 3 cam?
2. Can I use my 243 rockers and pushrods?
3. I know the I can't use the the fast 92 mm intake due to the cathedral port vs ls3 port. Have any of use ITB manifold such as thishttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevy-LS3-Side-Draft-EFI-Stack-Intake-Manifold-System-Complete-Satin-/201259586679?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &hash=item2edc019477&vxp=mtr

With only 46K on it why take it apart? GM validated these engines for 200,000 miles.

Do you have the ability to measure all of the new parts at the 0.0001" level?

I would also say consider leaving it alone..

Although the ARP rod bolts are a good idea

It sounds like you haven't replaced bearings or rod bolts before. Unless there's something wrong with it you may regret opening it up. There is nothing wrong with Clevite or ARP but GM engineers got it right when they put your engine together.

I wouldn't mess with it. With that mileage the engine is barely broken in, not broken. Also, why change reluctors?

OK so i just got a quote from the machine shop locally.
These are the work that I requested
Clean and disassemble rotating assemblies.
Convert to 24x reluctor wheel
install new cam, rod and main bearings
install piston rings
drill and tap for knock sensors
assembled with new cam.

He quoted me 1200.. Is that reasonable?
