Default Help!!!!!!!

What could this be I was told it was Lq4 but I think it is an LMG. We know it came out of an 2010 truck. Want to put in a 99 camero .

5.3 liter, not an LQ4 6 liter. That sucks!

Hi, guys yeah not 6.0 I checked the block after and its a 5.3 so my question is if you look at the pics there are no knock sensors ? I have not opened up to see if the castings are in the block. Also I have not done any 5.3s so would this also have DoD and how will I tell. Thanks

That motor is a gen4 5.3, should be dod. That valley cover looks the same as my L76 which was DOD. The gen4 motors have knock sensors in the block, gen3 are in the valley cover. Did the previous owner supposedly remove the DOD stuff?

The motor was a warranty motor bad lifter was suppose to be 6.0 but I didnt check it till after I got it home my bad.So now im trying to figure out if it is still usable in my 99 camero without to much trouble.I have not had any 5.3s so dont know what I got myself into.

Ok today was full of info thanks to the help of you guys on the forum. So its a gen 4 iron block so knock sensors are on the outside of the block by the pan rails. Next it is a DoD motor so the cam and lifters will be getting changed. Next the reluctor wheel is a 58 tooth and not a 24 so there is a wiring harness you can get to fix that and there also is a harness for the knock sensors also. So Is there anything else I have not looked at I would like to use my ls1 intake will that work on a gen 4 block it has 799/342 heads I can change to 317 also what do you guys think. Thanks
