Are you milling the heads and flycutting the pistons?

You don't need ARP head bolts. They are nice because they aren't one-time use, but they aren't necessary.
Flycutting is using a tool to cut valve reliefs in the pistons. With the right cam selection, this won't be necessary.

The factory LS2 pistons are flat with no valve reliefs and you are changing the intake valve diameter from 2.0" to 2.165" which substantially reduces the amount of piston to valve clearance.
If you go with a smaller cam, say in the 222-226 duration range, you most likely will not need to fly cut for clearance.

The LS2 with ported rectangular port heads don't need big cam, a 226 duration @ .050 is awesome don't require piston fly cutting will make easy 470 whp and have street manners and sound great.

I'm looking at an option right now that has a 6.0 block with ported LS3 heads and aggressive cam profile. For a mainly street driven 69 Firebird PT car, whether this would be suitable, as it seems to have been spec'd for higher RPM? The main difference for my setup would be a 3.89 gear with Trutrac.

From info provided:

"w/forged 11.0:1 LFA 6.0L short block, .035” milled 68cc LS3 heads, .040” gasket, LS3 intake w/87mm TB, 1 7/8” long tube headers w/o cats, manual trans, 3.73 gear, 6800 rpm shift points, 7000 rpm rev limiter.
228/234 .649”/.629” 112 LSA +2 advance (with 1.7 ratio rockers)"

This motor also utilizes BTR dual valve springs good for .660" lift and titanium retainers.

Any thoughts??
