lq9 vin location
lq9 vin location Hey Everyone,
I recently purchased an lq9 block from a 2006 escalade. I've been searching high and low for the partial vin on the block but can't seem to find it, I know there's a partial laser etched vin on top of the oil filter on the drivers side block but can't make it out, could it be located anywhere else? The seller didn't have the paperwork handy so besides any marking on the block (which is isn't legible) , is there anywhere else I can find it? The motor will be going through a complete build anyway, so before all that I want to make sure what I have is what I bought.

I have never heard of the partial vin before. As far as I knew, the only way to tell, was to either use a bore scope, or disassemble. I thought the same applied to the 4.8 vs 5.3
