Issue with valve train. Need help.
Alright, I need your guys' help. I had a little mishap a few months back and downshifted from 5th to 2nd at 100mph and revved the car up to around 9-10K rpm. They replaced 2 exhaust valves, 1 intake and all the retainers. When I got it back it'd occasionally make a loud pop at idle, sounds like a backfire. It would only do it at idle and very seldom. Maybe once every 2 or 3 times I took out the car. The car drove perfectly fine and made the same power it did before the incident. Let's fast forward 3 months and it still makes the occasional pop, so I decide to take it back to the shop and they pull the valve covers off and find that the locks on the retainers are pushed down and my rockers are hitting the retainers. The shop ended up replacing all the springs and retainers, and everything seems perfect. I drove it every day for 2 weeks then the pop happened again. I dropped it off at my shop today and they are going to take a look at it tomorrow. My shop has never dealt with a problem like this, since the pop happens extremely seldom. I'm almost certain it has to do something with the valve train, but don't know exactly what. Do any of you guys have an idea what it could be?
I have a 2015 Camaro 1LE with bolts on and cam.
