5.3 with 799 heads I've got a few questions for my 05 Avalanche build. I plan to use a 5.3 and run flat top Pistons, stock rods and stock crank for a 5.3 and use 799 heads with sdpc ht1 cam and some better valve springs and lifters. Does anybody know of a good full engine and head gasket kit? Also, does anyone know if you can use stock 799 valves springs for the cam listed? If anybody has built this combo I'd like to hear anything you have to say about it

Get the GM head gaskets for your application, along with anything else you need including a whole new rear plate assembly that will come with the gasket, bolts and seal installed. I don't know that cam, I spec my own from a couple different sources depending, but as for the springs I would recommend a basic dual spring with Ti retainer kit like we sell with all the baby cams, for racing applications or faster ramps I always use a PAC spring.
