Default LS7 spring installed height

I bought a 2007 Corvette Z06 with 5k miles on the clock a few weeks ago. Last week or so I ordered the BTR stage 3 kit cam and spring kit along with all of the install gaskets and ARP head studs. And trunnion upgrade (I have '07 don't forget) I contacted Texas speed to run through a few scenarios using their heads. Really wanting to wrap this swap up in a day before the snow flies. I have a garage but I hate the cold.

Anyone know the proper installed height for BTR Cam springs, specs are : 238/250 .652"/.630" 113+3 and comes a 3 bolt timing gear pattern.

Springs are 685" Lift Dual Spring Kit for LS7 engines using limited stock rocker arm setups and Roller Rockers. Includes dual springs, matching titanium retainers, your choice of locators for Stock or bronze guides, locks and seals.

I think I have it all lined out now - and my buddy says BTR has supercharger kits on sale Black Friday.

Send cam back for a special ground blower cam?
Just wrap it up heads, intake and cam?
Or say F-it, heads, cam, and Maggie?

Spring specs are 170 lbs @ 1.800", 380 lbs @ 1.180", 450 lbs @ 1.115, coil bind @ 1.000" This is a drop in spring kit for all 15 degree LS7 heads.

I'd ask these guys now, but I just started thinking about the huffer it's getting kinda late tonight to start bugging these guys.

Every time someone tries to talk me out of the PRC heads, I point them to my PRC head install on my old C5 in 2006 or 2007. I sold the car after install and you know, the guy has been driving the car hard for the last 7 years!! No spring or head failure of any kind. As a matter of fact Texas speed probably thinks I'm nuts. I called them from the race track just to thank them and tell them how well the car ran. I dropped at least a half a second in the quarter if I remember correctly. Heads were only change, it did have a small cam etc installed prior to head swap. I can pull my old build thread but I'm too tired and it was on CF.

Wow, bet you guys can't even keep up with all that rambling or even find the questions. . . .

Take your coilbind height and add coil bind clearance. You mate need to check with Brian about what clearance he recommends. Usually .060" is ok.

Then add the valve lift and that will be your target installed height.

For example, 1.00" coilbind + .060" clearance + .630" valve lift = 1.690" installed height. LS7's usually have an installed height around 2.0" so you're going to need a **** ton of shim. Or a set of some .650/.660" spring would be a better idea.

Yea, I've heard .600 to .080, I'll check with him thanks, I was wondering why he spec'd the .685's but don't want to sound disrespectful. I'm sure he has a reason, but I'd like to know just to learn from him. You know what I mean

Hmmmm, that's 1.712, doing a little reading I see guys setting them up at 1.77 - 1.8 too

There must be something I'm missing here, maybe the seats come into play?

Well the coilbind height will be different for other springs. The .650" stuff for example has coilbind at 1.10" so a .650" lift cam will have installed heights closer to 1.80".
