HKE built a 4.125" x 4.250" (454ci) LS7 years ago, strictly NA since the piston ends up being really short. They were custom too, not an off the shelf part.

It's not done yet. I'm going to try to have the shortblock assembled by this weekend before moving on to the valvetrain.

Wow i didn't think that would be safe with that block.......How deep is the cylinder on that block ??

I might be buying a Ls7 block next week and they have a 5.800 inch deep cylinder and was thinking of going to a 4.125 stroke crank.....but if 4.250 is safe then i might do that..

The cylinders are a little over 5.5" long. I think they're the shortest of all the LS blocks.

Putting a 4.250" crank in a standard deck block isn't a simple task. You're going to have to use custom pistons as no one to my knowledge makes a shelf piston for this yet. You're going to have to clearance the bottom of the cylinders for the rod bolts and you're most likely going to have to use a smaller base circle cam.
