Help with piston damage ls2 Hello everyone. When I was getting my headers installed one of the manifold bolts was broken into the head. I got a welder to try and weld of the bolt but it did not work so I decided to just leave it for another day and I went ahead and installed the headers. Once I started the engine it made a loud knocking noise for the first minute but then subsided completely. The car ran perfect and after a month or so I decided to add a cam and port and polish the heads while I was at it. When I removed the heads I noticed that the piston closest to where they broken bolt was at had huge dents. I assume that when the welder was trying to remove the broken bolt he removed the spark plug and some metal got into the cylinder and damaged the piston. Do I require new pistons or can I still use the same ones? How can I fix it? The car ran great before I dissasembled the heads and it is only one piston that is damaged. The vehicle is a 2007 c6 and the cam is a cam motion 230/234

The cylinder wall is perfect, the only thing that received damage was the actual piston. From the sounds of it I will have to remove the block, how do you guys recommend I remove it on a c6 with manual trans?
