Default L76 6.0 questions

Okay I have a .020 over aluminum 6.0 I built . So it's 368 ci. Now .. I was going to go with a set of cathedrals. But...

I fell into a rect port fast 102... How much power could I make out of this motor with a set of ls3 heads, 235/243 .620 cam. And a fast 102?

I know nothing about the "l76" design.. The 6.0 bottom with ls3 top end.

I'm trying to get as close to 500 rwhp as possible . I know cam only ls3's make close to 500. So would this BO doable with stock ls3 heads? It would I need ported ls3 heads v

Thanks

You should be close.

Depends on your exhaust system (headers to tailpipes), compression ratio......and whether you have a manual or an auto-transmission.

LS3 only has you beat by 8 cubic inches or 2%. Treat it like the LS3 and you'll make the same power. That's how it occurs to me.

With the heads milled .030" and a 227/235 Lunati cam, I put down 470/410 with an otherwise stock LS3 top end on an LS2.

If you decide to do any work to the heads, I would concentrate on the exhaust ports and combustion chambers. I wouldn't touch the intake ports.

So.....you wouldn't get in there an knock down the spring seat bump or rocker stand bump for an easy 15-20 CFM gain on the intake side? Doing this is pretty much a "NO BRAINER" if your reworking a set of L-92/LS3 heads....

Come down about 5 degrees duration on both sides and spec the LSA at 112 to maintain scavenge and useable compression. Any more overlap than that will hurt tq too much on a rectangle 6.0.

Have the heads ported on both sides as it will help airspeed if done right, but don't go more than 5-7cc bigger on the intake, shave the heads 0.020" and run a 0.040" gasket. That should get you to ~ 11.3:1. With that intake and a good exhaust that should get you to 500 rwhp and still maintain drive ability and low end.
