rocker arm question
We run a dirt track car its under 400hp. its 40 over 350. we run 487x heads. will rocker arms from a 5.3 work on this application. we have roller tips with screw in studs. and what bare the ratios on the ls rocker arms. these are pre 80"s heads

Factory rocker ratio for 5.3 is 1.7 and then for the larger engines ratio goes to 1.8
the diameter of your screw in studs (3/8)?(7/16) are to big to slide these rockers on.
And then I would wonder if the different valve angle would play a part in all this.
You might can get them to work, but it is not going to be just a bolt on. Personally I would just use an aftermarket 1.6 rocker that is designed for your heads. Good Luck

I have seen a couple applications where the smaller 8mm valves were used in a SBC head, along with beehive springs, keepers, and retainers from an LS.
