How to Achieve More Flatplane-like Exhaust Note?
I know a 8-to-1 merge collector will do the trick, but obviously packaging such a collector is not feasible in conventional cars.
Anything else?

I haven't heard the car run personally, but was told it sounds very good. I'm not sure it's possible to achieve the flat crank sound your talking about, without actually redesigning the engine to a flat crank assembly.
I ran 180 degree headers on a late model asphalt car from time to time, and although the sound was different than my standard cross-over headers, it sounded nothing like a true flat crank engine.

I would like to add "primary" length.
Measure the Primary Tube, the best sound will occur when "equal" in length, a
length within 1/4" on each pipe.
The exhaust outlets, after the collector, two, three, four, six are possible as would eight or more will cause an effect of which all are different.
The number of "outlets" has great effect on Song.

The exhaust was over the DG-300 yet under the rear wing.
This WAS a two collector INTO a "single" 4" bore muffler.
The muffler center was made of "fiber metal" a left over, damaged, piece I was given due to my design of the muffler for the B-2 Bomber.
That "damage" was end damage only, when cut to my one 1" less length requirement, it was a perfect fit.
The sound of my car was that of a F-1 or Indy Turbo.
One race I won, of many, was the Palm Springs Gran Prix.
The song of my Lola @ 200 MPH (300KPH) as it "echoed" the streets of PS, was known by ALL.
Lance, BTW you may have seen/heard this sound on TV.
