Default Which valve springs... ??

Heads have Titanium intakes coming in at 76g and solid exhausts coming in at 96g... heavier link bar lifters, 3/8" .080 pushrods and the cam lobes are slow, like HUC/LXL... looking for a valve spring, must be a double spring. Right now I've got installed heights of 1.820"i/1.790"e. Running the motor to 7200.... what's my best option here?

Thanks dudes.

How much lift?

The BTR .660 Platinum kit is very nice, I would recommend the use of the titanium retainers if you want to keep weight down.

.621 lift... yea I planned on the ti retainers, like I've got now.

My current springs are just old and was wondering what everyone uses these days. I've heard BTR's are great and I've been told they're not... but I will consider my source lol.

x2 for BTR springs..Only spring my motor has ever seen. 7000rpm shifts, lights at 7200-7500 depending if the throttle stop is on or not. I have several passes at close to 8k when the converter was too loose for the combo. I estimate over 250 passes in 5 years. I had the heads off to look things over and had the shop guy check pressure over the winter....a couple needed a .015 shim to bring them back to 145lbs....248-272, .637/.621 cam, LS3 heads.

I've installed a lot of BTR springs, and they're good springs for the money; perfectly suitable for your application. I have a set of the platinum springs for my SBE turbo combo.

Another option is PRC. On my 440ci build, I have a PRC kit that has PAC springs. They're about the same price as BTR, and also seem to have a surface treatment on the springs too. Again, another good option that would work well IMO.

My main concern being, I don't want to over spring it. I want my valves (mainly the ti intakes) to live in peace, as I like the way my wisecos and darton sleeves look the way they are... lol

Here they are. These are the old failure prone .675 EHT's... I want them in the trash can.

If your requirement is a dual spring, they're pretty much all around 400lbs open or more. I think the lobe choice is more detrimental to the valve life than the spring pressure is, but I think you made the right choices there anyway.

I've had a single fail on me before, never again. Just one of those things my stubborn self will never forget. It's looking like 150/400ish is the norm.. Guess I'll stick with that then. Thanks for the replies.

I would double check to see what the cam manufacturer recommends. The BTR's will work perfect and would not be "over springed" for your application. I have never ran over .600 but my on my WS6 I ran a cam with .600/.600 and BTR .660's, had over 30k miles on her before I sold her. I had the springs checked around 22k miles and they were still within spec. I have only used BTR's or PAC. Currently use PAC 1218's on my BTR 212/218 .553/.553 cam in my 5.3. BTR actually recommended beehives over duals for this cam due to lightly spring loads.

Also Lunati makes a pretty decent "gold" dual kit for the money.
