Size pistons for 6.0 block
Just picked up a brand new 6.0 iron block part#
12609999. I am going with forged rods and pistons with stock stroke. Question is what bore should I go with? It is pretty much going to be N/A build with a 150-200 shot of nitrous. Any advice will be helpful.

I would sonic test it if planning on taking it .060 over or more.
A 150-200 shot is not going to break anything.
I would do Molnar Power Adder rods CH6125NLB-LST8-A. For the price... they are very hard to beat. Tom Molnar designed Oliver rods and started K1. He now has Molnar and has very strict tolerances and good QC for Chinese forgings. He of course finishes them here in the states like K1 or Compstar. But he also has custom ARP rod bolts with it. So a very good rod.
And I'd do something like the Diamond 11513-R1 pistons. The .185" 8620 wrist pins are a nice upgrade. And it comes with Moly skirt coating and a Stainless Steel ring package. I've found them cheaper than Wisecos and lighter with better wrist pins. The 11513 is a 4.060" bore piston for a 6.125" rod and 3.622" stroke.
You could run an LS3 type head with that or something like TFS 245s without shrouding the valve.

.030 is good. Just bought a set of DSS 4.030" forged flat tops from Tick for $399 with shipping for a 6.0 block and I bought Scat I beam 7/16" ARP rods from the WS6 store for $298, to piece together a low budget forged 370 short block but if you can afford better Diamond, Wiseco, Mahle are nice.

SierraVmax, one bit of advice...what ever pistons and bore size you decide? Don't go low budget on the rings, buy a better quality file fit set with tapered face/napier second. I am going to use a Mahle or Total seal set with this 370c.i. build.

Wow guys thanks. Wasn't expecting to wake up to this much feedback. I am having 799 heads cnc ported with 2.02/1.6 valves.
I have heard about the Molnar rods before. I am using Powell Machine to do all the machine work.
plans are for nitrous for now. Possibly Procharged in the long distant future.

Well Jake, we'll just have to agree to disagree on that one. I was giving the OP some ideas if he were on a low budget where he could build the shortblock for less than $1grrr and have forged pistons, better than stock forged 6.125 rods and good rings. Oh yeah, I'm actually building this idea.
