New LS3 4.00 stroker build? Is it possible to install a 4 inch Callie's stroker without block modifications?
I remember reading an old magazine article, they said the LS3 cylinders were undercut making this possible.
This information seems to conflict with other data I have read.

The article does have few inaccuracies, but as far as the rod clearance goes, I would say that I don't agree. The Compstar rods do have a better profile than most rods and they do clear better, but they still get too close for comfort with the 2.10" rod journal. If you use the small journal 2.00" rod journal, then yeah, no need to clearance IMO, but I don't see "SJ" on the rods in the picture so I don't think that's what they used.

Rod Bore Notch Hi, YES you need to "notch the block".
My crankshaft/rods are manufactured in the same China Plant.
I have ONLY used 2.1" rod/cranks.
I can send pictures ?
The notch is for the bolt, about the size of a "dime" to be sure.
MY METHOD is the fit the crank with OLD bearings, then the rod with old bearings, one only with piston NO rings.
Then install this into each bore, slide to the crank fillet, MARK with a Felt Marker.
I "grind" each one separately, check for clearance, then on to the next bore.
Use an "old piston if possible, if NOT CLEAN after each grind/bore relocation.

Verdad Gallardo To clarify, not all callies parts are cast/forged in china. The Compstar are but are machined here.
Also make sure to install your windage tray and pickup tube/oil pump to make sure you do not need to space them as well.
