Default L92 stock block limits

i am wondering what the l92 block will hold HP wise. Going turbo but wondering if I need to go with an iron block or will the aluminum block hold up. I'm wanting capability of 1200hp. I've got a lq9 block and a l92. It's going in a 00 camaro

Stock sleeves in a L92 aren't meant for that type of abuse. Lq9 or pay for a re-sleeve:

Thanks I'll just go with the lq9 since I already have it.

Iron block, I've push my 6.2 aluminum block to 1000hp but change to the iron block to get into the 1400ish. Flywheel

if you've got the LQ9 with the higher compression flat top pistons, throw the heads from the L92 onto that block. Makes for an excellent N/A stroker, or with a good turbo application and a good compression ratio (easy to lower the CR with thicker LS9 gaskets). Those L92 heads flow like LS3 heads (because they're the same head), and if you get them ported they can flow like LS7 heads (LS7 heads are factory CNC'd LS3 heads). And you can keep the stock rotating assembly in the LQ9 for a turbo application. If you had the dished LQ4 pistons you could have an even lower compression ratio for a turbo setup. (fun fact: the LQ4 has the same piston construction as the LS9, but in a smaller bore size. The LQ4 and LS9 are the only GM Gen III/IV engines that have hypereutetic dished pistons)

Youll essentially be making the L76/77 engine that went into the Holden vehicles (Commodore, Caprice/Caprice PPV, Pontiac G8 GT), except you won't have the Displacement On Demand. At least I recommend not keeping it. DOD lifters get annoying and having the computer decide when you get all of your engine is a turnoff in my opinion. And you don't have to worry about VVT, either.

Default Main Cap Material

HI, your MAIN CAP will break (powered) if over 1000 HP

I would fit Steel Caps for your HP of 1200.
I would use a 58x TW on the crankshaft.
