LC9 Questions
So I took the Suburban apart today, the DOD cam has a groove in the 2nd bearing journal - The Chevrolet Performance Parts cam does not, Is the groove a DOD thing or do I need something different?
The cam plate has the "gasket" seemingly molded into it, just reuse it, or buy a new plate?
Do I need different pushrods? I bought a set of
Summit Racing SUM-G6400-LS - Summit Racing® Pushrods
Pushrods, Steel, Heat-Treated, 5/16 in. Diameter, 7.395 in. Length, Chevy, LS, Set of 16
Will these work?
Thanks, Frank

The groove in the DOD cam is for the DOD to function. If your new came isn't meant for DOD, then it won't need to have that groove in the journal.
Brand new, the orange seal on the cam retainer plate protrudes a bit. They aren't expensive, so if the orange seal feels flat, I replace it. Other have gotten away with a light coat of RTV and reusing it though.
