Default LS2 to 4.8

I've got a 2006 GTO im working with currently and the LS2 blew so I've got a 03 4.8 to go back until my 427 shows up. Installing the timing chain and I'm unsure of where the one darker link goes on the top or bottom? Both timing marks are lined up tho.
On anther note the knock sensors? The ls2 had them on the side and the 4.8 is a gen 3 any way to hook em up?

05-06 GTOs had 24x crank

You cant tap the extra motor mount holes on the side of the block. You might need to adjust the sensitivity of the knock sensors after words.

I would ditch the knock sensors..... good reason to lean to read plugs on a cheap motor.

You can drill and tap the sides of the 4.8 block for 8x1.25 holes. Or utilize two of the unused M10x1.5 holes and get an M10x1.5 to M8x1.25 stud and secure the knock sensors with a nut.

Or just turn the sensors off for the interim.
