4.0" Stroke RPM Limits w/ Solid Roller
The reason I ask is the car is setup for 8th, but I would like to run one race next year that would require 1/4 mile passes. It's going through the 8th at 7300.
1.80 glide, 3.89 rear gear on 28x10.5 tire. I'm limited to the 28s.
Thanks.
Factory crankshaft vs stock stroke china forged
The 4.00" crankshaft at 7500 RPM = 5000 ft/min.
The 4.00" crankshaft at 7300 RPM = 4867 ft/min.
Both are extreme with MY maximum of 5000 Ft/min for Steel Rods.
The Piston Pin WILL PULL OUT of the pin boss unless the piston was ORDERED with "extra" material in the area.
I use DLC coatings on the Pins for this type of RPM AND very often for ALL race engines.
NOW, "tech" for ALL with respect to "high end" crankshafts, ASK for the Bob Weight (1850+) for standard weight steel rods & forged pistons.
The chance is great for a lower bob weight AND NEXT, the cost of that balance job = 1K+.
I use David, Marine Crankshaft, for a "high end" crankshaft including HIS knowledge of Engine Balance WITHOUT Mallory.
