Default Intake Manifold bolts

Good afternoon folks,

I'm new to the site and learning a lot about the process of swapping out to an LS. I have an L92 and was wonder where the intake manifolds bolts lead to once installed in the head. Do they go into an oil galley or just into the block? Wondering because I plan on pressure washing the engine without the intake on. I understand I need to tape up or cover the intake holes.

Thank you in advance
Frank

The intake bolts go into the head, NOT the block. Just run tape across the whole intake surface plus any other exposed holes and you will be fine.

when I usually pressure wash an engine ill wash it as much as possible, without getting water into everything. Sometimes I will pull valve covers and loosen rockers. This will allow the valves to be completely shut (keep water out of engine.) Thin wash it up as best as possible. Sometimes washing the intake runners helps clean up all the carbon.

After wards blow all the holes out and the intake runners with air. Reitighten rockers and Pull plugs and spin over motor to wash out anything that might have got into cylinders. Done!

Same here but alway do it on engine stand so I can't rotate and dump most of the water. The more you get with pressure washer the less hand work you have

Thank you and I appreciate the advise. One more question, the intake manifold bolt holes go deep into the head, do they get go into some sort of oil passage or water jacket?

again thank you in advance

Some have blind holes, some go through to the lifter area. You just need to look for yourself.
