I recently bought what I was told was a lc9 from a 2011 Silverado. I noticed the head casting number is 853. I had originally thought the lc9 had 243/799 heads. What motors do the 853 heads come on?

The 853 came on 99-00 LS1's. Either you do not have an LC9, or someone put 853 heads on one. On your engine, where is the cam sensor and knock sensors? If the knock sensors are in the valley cover you do not have an LC9. The LC9 is a Gen IV engine, and the LS1 is Gen III.

Might have had a valve job done in a shop, or had cracked head(s), where the shop figured the owner would not know the difference if some different heads got stuck on there. Very few would feel the difference.
