LS3 oil pressure/priming question
Currently waiting for a few parts before I can crank it over. Parts are supposed to be here tuesday so next weekend possibly ready to fire it up. Possibly...
In any rate I primed the filter, cooler, and block and got good pressure. When I was priming it I made sure to rotate the crank a few times.
Question is,
should I prime it again before I fire it up? Or would it be okay if I put the alt and belt drive together now, and next weekend after I my parts get here just install them and fire it up?
I'm quite certain I've got oil all the way through the engine.
If you want a little added insurance to make sure the oil pump is working before starting, You could pull the spark plugs and turn it over until you see pressure, It will turn over easier/faster than if you left the plugs in. Last one I did only took a few seconds to see pressure and that was without pressure priming it first.
