Default GenIII oil pressure sensor in genIV?

Up front, I may not be using the right key words in the search but I'm assembling a LH6 to go in my 98 T/A, I've got the GM non DOD valley cover and the thread for the OPSU is not the same as the original 98.

Are you guys going from genIII to genIV chopping the threaded boss off the new valley cover and welding the correct one? Using a different sensor? Adapter fitting?

Help is always appreciated.

Jon

May not be entirely relevant but when I swapped in the ls3, the ls1 oil pressure sensor screwed in no problems

Adapter fitting is usually used. Ive Also heard of some guys drilling and tapping the old sensor for thr new sensor (if tht makes sense.)

Ok thanks, just wanted to see what others were doing since I'm finally going to be putting this motor together soon.

I just did a gen IV swap this winter and moved my Gen III OPS over without a problem? I was worried about height being an issue between the taller gen3 sensor and raised port on the gen4 valley, but still have plenty of clearance and room to get the brake booster hose over.
