will a dod cam work in a non dod engine?
I have a 2008 Sierra Denali with VVT which I am going to remove and I want to do a mild cam swap while im there. At the same time I am building a 1000hp 2013 Camaro SS and its getting a big cam. So Im wondering if the stock Camaro SS cam (Ls3 with DOD) will work without issue in my Denali L92 which is not a factory DOD engine. Both engines are 6.2L

FYI- LS3's(manual trans) do NOT have DOD or VVT. L99's(auto trans) have BOTH. Which do you have?

L99, Excuse me, I was close. You are correct. I was only thinking of repurposing the camaro cam rather than trashing it and saving myself a buck or two on the truck build. Bummer. Can I ask why? Just curious. Thank you for the help.

The DOD cam has different lift and duration specs on the cylinders that go "dead" than those running constantly. Get an LS3 cam for the other engine if you want to juice it up a bit.
