Default Biggest rebuilding mistakes?

Hey guys

I'm in the process of rebuilding my lq4 (throwing gen 4 internals in my gen 3). I'm running into so many questions and recommendations about bearings, timing chain, oil pump, reusing main bolts etc. Theres just so much info on the internet out there! I really got but by going with comp trunnions (getting rid of them asap due to bad stories I've heard). So my question is what are some big mistakes to avoid when rebuilding these ls engines? Any parts I should avoid?

WS6 Store sells customized rebuilt kits with quality parts. I suggest contacting WS6 Store and getting one of their kits to avoid the pitfalls.

One of my experiences when helping a friend build his engine was making sure to replace the cam retainer plate. He had a MAJOR oil pressure leak and he didn't even think about really replacing it. I dont even think it costs $20 to replace it and it ended up being a big pita for him before he replaced it.
Make sure to keep everything clean!!!
