5.3 DOD delete what really goes on? so ive built LS motors for my chevelle and friends but ive never had to deal with a DOD delete. doing a 5.3 for a friend and i got a 05 5.3. what all really goes into the DOD delete. if i was gonna swap the cam and lifters anyways do i need to buy a "kit"? can i piece something together myself? do you have to tap the block at all for these plugs or are they already threaded? do you even have to plug the ports? if you just swap the cam and lifters what then?

The 05 does not have DOD, it being a Gen III. DOD started on the Gen IV's which came out around 07.
Having said that, deleting DOD/AFM means replacing the cam, lifters and lifter trays, plus the valley cover with one that caps the holes on the towers feeding the DOD lifters.
