Default Turbo Cam Help

Hey guys, looking for some insight on a “shelf” turbo cam. I’ll start with basic details. Vehicle is a 1996 C1500 single cab. Motor is a GenIV 5.3 that’ll be a basic rebuild. Stock heads, pistons, etc besides cam swap, springs and pushrods. Dead set on the VS 7875 turbo. Trans will be a TH400 with a decent converter in 32-3600 range. This is a build for me and my dad. Mostly all street driving, couple trips to the track. I’m not looking to go cheap on everything, but if i can save a buck here and there I’ll do it. I don’t want to get into the downward spiral of custom this, custom that and get unmotivated and never finish the build. Which brings me to my point, after reading @Mavn ’s build i’m very interested in the Summit turbo cam stage 2 which is a 226/230 113+4, .600/.575. For my goals, do you think it’s too much duration for a stock 5.3 with a decent still converter? I would think this would be a good thread for the forced induction thread but i figured i’d ask since the Summit cams are pretty new. Any insight is appreciated!

Everything you just said points to a Stage 2 SUM-8706. You could go milder, but that would be boring. You want this thing to be an animal.
