Default Valve spring recommendations
Got a G8. Bought it with unknown cam. Want to change valve springs for piece of mind. It currently has singles in it, which is what I'm looking for. Cam not too big, only 415whp. What do you guys recommend for a good single spring? Thanks.

Just about any of our sponsor/vendors have great HD beehive springs on hand. Check WS6store, TSP, Cam Motion, among others.

I dont see why you would not want to run a dual valve spring. The cost vs the potential damage greatly outweighs in favor of the the dual valve spring.

Agreed.
It's not worth the risk running a single spring

I hear ya. I've put 30k on it since I got it and have no idea how long before that the cam was put in cause it was a dealer car. I don't know anything about seat pressure, open close pressure etc. that's why I was trying to get a rec. thanks.

Something like a Pac 1207x is a good spring to use for most normal aftermarket hydraulic camshafts.
Seat and open pressures are street friendly and will suit most street driven camshafts.

It's true.
However I am referring to the majority of street profiles.
Usually about 160lb seat pressure and 425 open pressure

I would think the BTR Platinum kit would work. It works for most hydraulic profiles with stock type valves.

And just because the cam seems to be mild, doesn't mean it has mild lobes. It could be a small duration LSK lobe profile that drives very well and is hard on the valvetrain.

If I were to guess I would say Vector Mororsports 1.5. It has their pushrods in it, single springs, which come with their kit. I can't find any specs on it tho.

Not much data on the cam specs. But I think either buying another set of beehives from them or their dual spring kit would be safe.

Actually, I google searched and found on G8 forum in their cam database... Stage 1.5, 223, 231 .610 .617, 116

Those look like LSL lobes. So, not really mild but easily controllable. I'd go with the BTR Platinums with them.
