GEN IV RODS Indexed with a punch Hey all, tearing down a Gen IV LQ4, the rods being powdered metal have been indexed near the big end with a metal punch set 1 through 8, due to the nature of the rod and the process of fracturing I am aware that this should not be done, however on a budget would you be willing to use these rods in a boosted application making around 500-600hp, I want to go ahead and use them, but I am nervous that being cheap will bite me in the ***, that being said finding factory gen IV rods where I am located in Canada is quite difficult and any donors found at the wrecking yard have been whored out previously by someone else. any input is greatly appreciated in making my decision

Yeah me too, I guess that will remain unknown, either way they are stamped just above and below the fracture on the big end : / as much as I want to think it will unlikely cause failure it would also be a kick in the nuts if I spend the time and money and have it fail because of that. I was hoping to keep it on a thin budget, doing rods/pistons and balancing defeats my budget goals
